A local state representative went before a judge Thursday with the possibility of jail time in his future. Boris Miles pled not guilty to two counts of misdemeanor deadly conduct. Miles was indicted last month after two incidents in which he allegedly waved a gun at people. He could get up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine for each charge.

Al Edwards, who held that post for more than two decades, is set to replace Miles to once again represent District 146.
