Junior Katie Bush started things off reaching base on a bunt and senior Amanda Grote would put herself into scoring position, reaching base on a single through the left side. Bush and Grote would scored when junior Laurie Wagner hit her first triple of the season, giving Houston the 2-0 advantage.
