San Jac routs Paris in women's softball

HOUSTON Kelsey McClain, a graduate of Pasadena Memorial, pitched a complete game for San Jac as in the 8-2 win in the first round of the 2008 Region XIV softball tournament.

San Jac got the scoring underway in the third inning, crossing the paystation three times. In the fourth, they tallied five more runs.

Freshman Krystal Plummer from Angleton was two-for-three and drove in one run, while McClain also went two-for-three, driving in a run and scoring one. Sophomore Brittany Boren from Bryan, drove in two runs and was two-of-three on the day.

San Jac advances to the second round, and will face Texarkana at 9 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2008, at Hohlt Park in Brenham, Texas. The winner of the Region XIV tournament advances to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournament May 15-17, 2008, in Plant City, Florida.
