Joy's School of Dance founder Joy Burkhart says Elizabeth took classes in ballet, jazz and tap during her school years.
Burkhart describes Elizabeth, a 1991 graduate of Waco High School, as a quiet young lady who "did a good job" and had a lot of support from her family.
Lisa Saxenian was principal of Lake Air Middle School when Elizabeth was a student.
"She was a very energetic cheerleader I can see her making 'Dancing With the Stars,"' Saxenian told the Waco Tribune-Herald.
Elizabeth and partner Derek Hough survived Tuesday night's round of the popular ABC television program.
