The retrial was supposed to start as early as Friday afternoon or Monday morning, but all that could be on hold. Prosecutors and attorneys for Slade were working on that possible plea deal all afternoon Wednesday.
Slade arrived at the courthouse Wednesday afternoon and went up to the 15th floor. The holdup Wednesday has been because attorneys for Slade have been meeting with both prosecutors behind closed doors and their client, going back and forth between the two.
