Vols' 7th-inning rally overtakes Horns

HOUSTON Trailing 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Tennessee (4-1) scored three runs on a hit and two errors by the Longhorns to take a 4-2 lead.

Texas (5-1) responded with a run in the bottom of the seventh, and Tennessee came back with another run in the top of the eighth on P.J. Polk's RBI triple. Brandon Belt of Texas answered with a run-scoring triple to center field in the bottom of the inning.

Still leading 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Tennessee's Jeff Lockwood retired all three batters he faced to earn his second save of the season.

Steve Crnkovich (2-0) got the win, giving up three runs on eight hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Austin Wood (1-1) took the loss, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits. He issued four walks while striking out one over six innings.

Blake Forsythe scored three of Tennessee's five runs, going 1 for 2 with two walks. Andy Simunic went 2 for 4 and scored a run.

Belt, Preston Clark and David Hernandez had two hits apiece for Texas.
