Accident with downed power lines block Harwin Drive at Gessner Road

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police have shut down all lanes on Harwin Drive from Allday Drive to Gessner Road after an accident.

Investigators say a driver traveling westbound on Harwin Drive split a telephone pole in half after hitting a slick patch on the road.

A bystander helped cut the driver's seatbelt and pulled him from the vehicle.

The driver refused transportation to a hospital via EMS.
