The accident happened around 3:30am on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and South Acres. The officer was heading to an emergency call southbound on MLK when the squad car collided with another vehicle at the intersection.
It's unclear if the officer's lights and sirens were active at the time of the accident.
The officer was not injured but the male driver in the other vehicle was transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries is not known at this time. A female passenger was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
