Residents evacuated as precaution near leaking overturned tanker

HOUSTON

At about 2:45pm Monday, a tanker overturned on Roland at Brewster and began leaking some type of substance. Jay Evans with the Houston Fire Department says HazMat crews are not worried about the leaking chemical, but officials have asked residents in four homes in the immediate area to leave as a precaution.

The company that owns the tanker has been notified and is sending another truck to the scene in order to offload the chemical.
