Body found buried in northeast Harris County identified as missing Houston car salesman

HOUSTON

The gruesome discovery was made after a 911 call tipped deputies off about a body buiried next to a chicken coop behind a home in the 5200 block of Mohawk near Percy.

More than 12 hours of searching and digging ended with the recovery of the body. On Monday, we received confirmation of rumors and fears that it was 41-year-old Leal Valdez.

Now, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death continues.

Family members tell Eyewitness News Leal mysteriously disappeared as they were waiting for him to bring items home for a dinner celebration.

Officials said a partially chopped-up vehicle was also recovered at the scene. Leal Valdez's vehicle was also missing, but it's unclear whether it's been recovered.

The victim's cause of death has not been released.

Anyone with information about the suspects' identity in this case and/or location is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS or to submit a tip via the iWatchHarrisCounty phone app.
