METRO officials say one person has been stabbed while standing at a bus stop in downtown Houston.

It happened sometime around 6pm in the 1000 block of Lamar at Main.

Authorities say a man was in the doorway of a METRO bus, apparently in process of boarding when a passenger came up behind the man, and demanded that he move so he could also board the bus. The first man couldn't or wouldn't move, and he ended up getting stabbed in the collarbone area by the suspect.

The injured man is being taken to Ben Taub to be checked out. His wound was considered minor.

The suspect was still on the scene when METRO police arrived and he was taken into custody. Authorities say there's no word yet on charges.

No other details were immediately available.
