Gulf disturbance becomes Tropical Depression #8

September 6, 2013 11:34:07 AM PDT
A system we've been watching in the western Gulf of Mexico has been upgraded to Tropical Depression # 8.

According to Chief Meteorologist Tim Heller, this will be mainly a rain event for Mexico, with potentially life-threatening flash floods in the mountainous terrain.

Don't expect any moisture in southeast Texas. All rain will stay well south of us.
