The Coast Guard says the search continued Monday along the Intracoastal Waterway near Sabine Lake.
Petty Officer Manda Emery says the tugboat captain called the Coast Guard after the accident Sunday afternoon. Emery identified the missing man as 56-year-old John Tran of Bridge City. She says Tran was in a pleasure craft.
The Coast Guard says the smaller boat sank but has been located under water. The tugboat wasn't damaged.
Authorities are trying to determine what caused the accident on the Orange County side of the waterway.
