Free heart screenings, movies and more this weekend

It's Friday and our ABC13 consumer team has gathered up some great deals for this edition of Free Stuff Friday.

Parents of young athletes can receive free heart screening for their children at Texas Children's Hospital west campus on Saturday. Just make sure to sign up online. Spaces are limited.

Galveston is a favorite destination for the holidays and there are several free activities. At Saengerfest Park, from now until December 31, there is a free laser and light show in the park. Twinkle lights synchronized to music will decorate the park before 15-minute, holiday-themed laser shows take place each night at 6, 7 and 8pm. Also at Saengerfest Park, check out the Disney magical parties each Saturday for the month of December. Radio Disney will provide entertainment, including music and prizes. The parties on Saturday will be held from 2-4pm.

Make sure to bring a non-perishable food item to Moody Gardens Friday night. That will get you buy one get one free admission to the Festival of Lights. And hit The Strand this Saturday and the next Saturday for a free photos with Santa.

Enjoy some holiday music this weekend at the Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The church's concert choir and orchestra is presenting free performances of Handel's Messiah at 8pm. Tickets are first come, first served.

For a few laughs, head to Whole Foods Montrose for a free screening of the holiday favorite Elf. The movie starts at 7:30pm at the store on Waugh.
