Texas Crime Stoppers now is offering a $13,000 reward for information that leads them to the arrest of 31-year-old Mark Steven Bauman. Tips are guaranteed to be anonymous, and to get the cash, the information must lead to his arrest before July.
Bauman, a convicted sex offender, is currently wanted on charges of improper photography/visual recording (involving two teenage girls), possession of child pornography, flight to avoid prosecution, failure to register as a sex offender and probation violation.
He was last seen in the summer of 2010 in the Austin area and has strong ties to Mexican/Central American immigrant communities in the Austin area. He is fluent in Spanish and has used Spanish-language matchmaking websites to meet women.
Authorities suspect Bauman may currently reside in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras or Colombia; however, anyone with a tip that leads to his arrest, inside or outside of the U.S., will receive the reward money.
Bauman has gone by various aliases, including Marcos Bauman. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.
Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or texting the letters "DPS" followed by your tip to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone. Crime Stoppers also accepts tips the DPS website; select the fugitive you have information about and then click on the link under their picture.
