The man was found in an apartment on Easton Street at Auburn Street.
The unidentified victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition with injuries to his chest, but it's unknown if he was shot.
Police have no suspects and no witnesses in this case so far.
Detectives said there was no sign of forced entry.
Houston Police Department's homicide and burglary divisions are investigating.
