According to witnesses, several gunshots were heard inside the residence February 25 at around 7:30pm in the 2300 block of Cleburne Street. One witness went to the living room and found Jeremy Perry lying against the inside of the front door and asking for help. That same witness then called 911.
Responding HPD patrol officers and HFD paramedics determined Perry, 22, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and he was then transported Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
There were other people inside the apartment, but officials said no one else was hurt.
Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting.
