Man leads police on chase with family inside car

A man is accused of leading police on a wild chase overnight with his family inside

A father is accused of taking the entire family on a high speed police chase overnight The chase started around 1am on the Northwest Freeway and 34th Street when Houston police tried to pull the driver over.

According to officers, the driver took off instead, going around Highway 290 down to the West Loop and then west on the Katy Freeway. Police say at one point, the driver was travelling 100 miles per hour.

The officers finally caught up with the driver in a neighborhood, north of I-10 around Wirt. When the driver did stop, officers found a woman passenger, four kids, ages ranging from two years to 10 years in the car. Two were in car seats.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the chase.

James Lawrence has been charged with felony evading arrest.
