Firefighters battle two suspicious house fires

Arson investigators are looking into two suspicious fires that broke out just blocks from one another. The first was on Depriest at Morrow in north Houston. A family was asleep inside and woke up when fire trucks arrived to put out the flames burning through their house. They made it out OK, but the house is a total loss.

"We lost everything. I don't know what we are going to do," said homeowner Alfranetheia Bradley. "I don't know where we gonna live now. We don't have anything."

Investigators say it looks like the fire may have started on the outside front porch, so arson is suspected.

The second fire was at an abandoned home on Couch and Burlseon. Crews found the home fully engulfed in flames when they arrived and had to let it burn down. Arson investigators say this one is suspicious because there was no power running to the home.
