Around 8am today, police say Leon traveled to his wife's residence in the 900 block of North First Street by bicycle, confronted Bautista and shot her several times.
Neighbors apparently heard the gunshots and went outside to investigate. They saw Leon trying to leave the scene. A neighbor flagged down a Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy who was traveling on North First Street. The deputy was able to detain Leon until Conroe Police officers arrived.
Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Trey Spikes pronounced the victim dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy.
Leon was transported to the Montgomery County where he was charged with one count of first degree murder.
