More than two dozen arrested in West Texas in drug case

MONOHANS, TX Twenty-eight people were arrested after being indicted in 16 different federal indictments Wednesday. They face charges including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and distribution of controlled substances.

Federal prosecutors say the suspects, who range in age from 23 to 59, are all from either Monahans or Odessa, distributed heroin, crack cocaine and powder cocaine in and around Monahans, a West Texas town of about 6,800 people about 35 miles west of Odessa.

Four people face state drug charges and six others are still being sought by federal agents.
