Boil water notice lifted for some Houston residents

HOUSTON The notice affected approximately 600 homes that receive their water bill from the City of Houston in key maps 298(X, Y, Z), 299 (W), 338(C, D), and 339(A). No other areas in the City of Houston were affected by this notice.

Due to the cold weather, equipment failures occurred and the Plantation Hills area experienced very low pressures. No contaminants have been found. By TCEQ regulations, a boil water notice must be issued when the pressures drop below 20 psi.

The pressures in the Plantation Hills area have returned to normal. The boil water notice has been lifted since water tests confirm the quality of the water.
