Mayor-elect Parker to take oath in private

HOUSTON Parker's spokesperson says she wants to keep the event private because of the huge price tag a public weekend ceremony would cost. She also said Parker doesn't want to take attention away from Monday's city hall inauguration of newly elected officeholders.

Parker and Controller-elect Ronald Green will take the oath at 9:30am at City Hall.
