Perry campaign says message was hacked

AUSTIN, TX Perry, in what may be the closest he comes to a formal campaign kickoff, spoke with supporters in what was to be a live stream via the Internet from a closed San Antonio event Tuesday.

But when many users tried to log on to the speech, they got a message instead saying "unable to connect to database server."

Campaign spokesman Mark Miner said they were "definitely hacked." He called it "political sabotage."

It was not immediately clear what caused the problem or how many people were able to watch Perry's message.

Perry has already said he's seeking a third full term. He's facing U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in the March 2010 GOP primary.
