New strain of flu afflicting dogs

The federal government says the H3N8 virus is highly contagious, but only deadly in a small percentage of dogs. Humans cannot get the virus but it can be passed to dogs from humans who've been in contact with infected animals.

Symptoms include sneezing, coughing, wheezing and a decreased appetite. The government is currently testing a vaccine for the virus.
