Authorities say speed and possibly alcohol were factors in the crash which happened on the Seawall near 12th Street.

"This is a lady that lost her family," one resident told us.

And it was on Mother's Day.

"My daughter is in there hurting because she doesn't have a husband anymore, nor her first born," said relative Yvonne Darnell.

Darnell tells us that after Sunday church LeGrace and Tremaine Albert packed up the car, loaded the family and headed to the beach for a Mother's Day celebration.

Police tell us around 10:30pm Sunday, as Tremaine, 25, their son Alan Meredith, 10, and godson Isaiah Barnett, 3, were loading the truck to go home, a driver veered off Seawall Boulevard hitting the three and killing them instantly. Darnell and her husband rushed to Galveston.

"The SUV was flipped over when we got there and we saw that Termaine was covered," she painfully described. Police believe alcohol and speed were possible factors in the crash. Darnell says Termaine's wife is struggling. "We're here for her, each and every one of us," Darnell said.

She has an 8-year-old daughter who doesn't understand, a one-year-old son who will never know his father and a lot of anger.

"This person should understand he has ruined the life of a young family, this is something we don't get back, this is over with," Darnell told us.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. His name is not being release pending possible criminal charges. Galveston police tell us he does have a history with them. They are waiting for the results of his blood alcohol tests.

The family of those three victims said they need prayers. They will be buried on Saturday.
