Overturned big rig closes highway ramp

HOUSTON It took place just after 1am on the southbound exit ramp from the Eastex Freeway southbound ramp to the East Freeway.

Officers say as the driver of an 18-wheeler was taking the turn, he lost his load. There were potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbage, beets and even cilantro in the rig. Crews had to remove a couple of dumpsters worth of produce from the road.

Apparently, the driver was on his way from San Juan, Mexico, to New York. That driver wasn't injured in the accident.
