Grand champion steer pulls in $300K

A steer named Yellow Jacket was the grand champion. It sold for $300,000. The animal was raised by Christopher Barton of Jarrell, Texas.

Also yesterday, Josh Turner showed off his deep vocals for the Rodeo crowd. The platinum-selling artist sang songs from his third album entitled 'Everything is Fine.' This was Turner's second Houston Rodeo appearance.

Today is Go Tejano Day at Rodeo Houston and one of the most popular accordion players of all time will take the stage this afternoon at Reliant Stadium.

Go Tejano Day draws big crowds each year and today, Ramon Ayala will play songs from the more than 105 albums he has recorded in his 40 year career. Taking the stage before Ayala will be Alacranes Musical, who will make their Rodeo Houston debut.
