On Monday, junior Laurie Wagner and senior Angel Shamblin were named Conference USA softball Hitter of the Week and Co-Pitcher of the week, respectively.

It's the second time Wagner, a native Houstonian, has earned the award for batting and the third of her career. Last week, she was hitting a .571 clip, going 8-for-14 without a single strike out and belted her 17th home run of the season.

As for Shamblin, this is her sixth Pitcher of the Week award this year. She recorded three wins over the course of the week, improving her staggering record to 30-2 overall and 15-0 in conference play. She needs one more win to tie her single-season win record of 31 set last year.

Shamblin has recorded 16 shutouts this year and has struck out at least 10 batters in four of her last six games.

Shamblin shares the award this week with Allison Kime of UCF.
