The Texans made two personnel moves today, parting ways with Center Steve McKinney and re-signing free agent Punter Matt Turk. Turk, who played all 16 games for the Texans last season, set team marks with a 41.7-yard gross average and a 37.9-yard net average. He also set a team mark with a 44.5-yaerd net average against the Colts in week 16. There were 151 yards in punt returns against the Texans all season.

In 12 NFL seasons, Turk has averaged 42.4 yards per punt with a net average of 37.4 yards per attempt. Only 354 of his 917 career punts (38.6 percent) have been returned. Last season was his first with the Texans.

McKinney was signed by the Texans in 2002, starting 73 games at both center and guard. The former Texas A&M Aggie was the team's first unrestricted free agent.
