Officers busy with two chases in SE Houston

Police say a suspect tried to run other drivers off the road during a chase overnight. It started on Highway 225 in southeast Houston when an officer tried to pull the car over after it came back stolen. The chase lasted about 30 minutes and reached speeds of 100 miles per hour before ending in north Houston.

The driver crashed into a fence, then jumped out and tried to get away. He was caught and faces charges of felony evading and auto theft.

In another chase, a suspect got away from police in southeast Houston. It ended at Sunbeam near MLK. Two suspects got out the car and ran through a wooded area. The passenger was caught. A K-9 unit was called to search for the driver, but he has not yet been caught.
