One of Rudley's goals is to help TSU move past the troubled legacy of former president, Dr. Priscilla Slade. She was fired after she was charged with misusing nearly half a million dollars of the school's money for personal expenses. That left TSU facing serious financial problems and nearly cost the school its accreditation. Slade is expected to be retried next month after a hung jury during her trial in October.
Rudley officially takes over at TSU
HOUSTON
The TSU Board of Regents voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Rudley during a meeting yesterday. He is expected to assume office on Monday. Rudley most recently served as the University of Houston's interim president and financial chief.
