Deputy constable killed in traffic accident

HOUSTON (KTRK) Deputy Constable David Joubert, 60, was performing a police-related function, as a motorcycle funeral escort on Saturday afternoon. Joubert was traveling northbound in the left lane on Cullen near Yellowstone. Another car was traveling in the right lane, when the car turned in front of Joubert. Joubert collided with the vehicle and was dragged at least half a block before the car stopped.

Joubert passed away at 1:52pm at Herman Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife and three children. Joubert is mourned by Harris County Precinct 7 Constable May Walker, the deputies and staff of Precinct 7.

A Houston Police Department investigation into the accident is on-going.
