Police identify Willowbrook Mall stabbing and shooting victims

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police are releasing new information about a stabbing and shooting that happened outside Willowbrook Mall Friday.

According to Houston police, 29-year-old Miguel Bonilla was stabbed, and 21-year-old Christian Martinez was shot outside the mall just before 12:30 p.m.

Police said Martinez and his girlfriend were in the parking lot of Willowbrook Mall when a white Ford F-150 truck stopped near them.

According to the investigation, Bonilla, the driver of the truck, and a passenger got out and exchanged words with Martinez.

Police said the argument escalated into a physical fight. That's when Martinez was shot and Bonilla was stabbed.

Both victims were taken to the hospital by LifeFlight.
