VIDEO: Raging floodwaters wash out road

LINDALE, TX (KTRK) -- Floodwaters in east Texas washed out a roadway in spectacular fashion on Friday.

Laneigh Childers tells abc13 that her husband Allen shot this shocking footage on County Road 450 between Lindale and Mineola, Texas on his way to work.

Earlier torrential rain had caused flooding through the region. Although the floodwater passing over the road was not especially deep, Allen noticed the ground beginning to move and quickly backed his car away.

As it turns out, he acted just in the nick of time, as the small bridge was quickly swept away by the water raging beneath.
