More storms today with chances increasing during your afternoon commute home

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Another round of strong thunderstorms is likely to develop Tuesday. A few scattered storms for the morning commute and then increasing during the afternoon. These storms will be sparked by the afternoon heat, which should peak near 90.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Galveston County until 9 a.m.

An isolated severe storm and/or flash flood is possible.

Wednesday through Friday, expect lower rain chances and a Saharan dust cloud to turn our sky hazy gray.

A slight chance of afternoon downpours returns for the weekend with highs in the low 90s. Our first look at July 4th appears a little stormy as a tropical wave currently near Africa blows into southeast Texas. This could bring widely scattered downpours during the daylight hours, but the evening would most likely be dry for firework festivities.
