HOUSTON WEATHER: Extreme steam and more storms this weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- From storms to steam. A wet ground from recent rains will make for a steamy Tuesday once the sun comes out. Highs will top out in in the mid 90s with a heat index between 100-105.

Triple digit heat will expand across Texas for the rest of the week, pushing our highs into the upper 90s Thursday. Heat index values could reach 110-degrees, putting us into a heat danger zone.

The heat will abate some this weekend as another round of storms rolls in from the north. After the weekend storms clear out, a thick cloud of dust from African's Sahara Desert will turn the sky hazy gray for a few days next week.
