Heavy downpours for some on your Sunday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Deep tropical moisture helped scattered storms to develop over the area Saturday afternoon, and we'll see a similar overall pattern today (though the coverage will be a bit lower).

What should we expect for the rest of Labor Day Weekend?

Moisture levels will remain high enough on Sunday for the scattered, heavy rain producing storms to continue. We have the coverage of storms today at 40%. The storms will be moving slow enough to produce some isolated incidences of street flooding. Moisture levels will fall a little on Labor Day so the storms then will be a bit more isolated.

How about Labor Day and beyond?

We're keeping rain chances around every day, but we'll see the coverage decrease a bit in the coming days. After today's 40%, we have 30% coverage of storms on your Labor Day. The rest of the week will continue bringing scattered afternoon downpours, with coverage varying anywhere from 20-40%.
