HOUSTON (KTRK) -- At least three Walgreens were broken into overnight, and in each case crooks smashed their way in through the pharmacy drive-thru window.
The first happened Tuesday night around 9:30 at the Walgreens off FM 1960 near Jones Road.
Several Precinct 4 deputy constable cars surrounded the pharmacy, though it's unclear what if any prescription medication was taken. Investigators didn't say if anyone was arrested.
At 3:15am, the Walgreens on Highway 249 near Northpointe Boulevard was hit.
The drive-thru window was smashed, creating a hole for thieves to climb through.
Investigators haven't said what was stolen.
Then, 45 minutes later, about 10 miles north, a third Walgreens was broken into.
At 4am, the alarm sounded at the Walgreens on Bammel North Houston Road near West Richey.
When our crew arrived, a mile wide perimeter had been formed around the pharmacy.
Several deputies were searching a nearby field by flashlight.
The drive-thru pharmacy window had also been smashed.
It's unclear what was taken or if anyone was arrested.
