Teen ejected from vehicle survives freeway crash

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An 18-year old driver is in the hospital after he was thrown from his vehicle on the Eastex Freeway near Lauder Saturday night.

The southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down following the crash around 10:30pm.

Authorities say the driver sideswiped another vehicle and lost control, hitting two retaining walls before he was ejected.

He was taken to Ben Taub hospital in critical condition.
