HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen vanished on April 22, 2020 from Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
Her family searched for 69 days, pleading for answers and help.

The family came to Houston from Mexico in search of a better life, and forced the most powerful military in the world to change because of what happened to their daughter.
One year later, her family is sharing their story of grief, anger, and action in the ABC13 Original "Vanessa Guillen: Remember Her Name". Steve Campion has exclusive interviews with Vanessa's parents and sisters, family attorney Natalie Khawam, Tim Miller who helped find Vanessa's remains, and Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia who is pushing for lasting change to the Army.
