Utility worker shows his dedication in now-viral photo

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Jimmie Cox apparently isn't afraid of getting dirty at work.

The 23-year-old was recently photographed submerged from the waist up in muck, inverted, as he tried to fix a water line of a woman's home.

Cox works for the Acton Municipal Utility District in Granbury, TX, about 70 miles east of Dallas.

Cox told WFAA-TV he can't believe the attention the photo has garnered.

"In this line of work, people do it a lot," he said.

Homeowner Andrea Adams snapped the photo and said she is glad he showed up to help her when he did. She told WFAA the photo proves he goes above -- or in this case, below -- and beyond when he's on the job.

She said, "I'm real proud of him."
