Postal worker leaves package exposed on back of truck
An Alvin resident is fuming after a postal worker left a parcel perched on the back of his pickup truck.

ALVIN, Texas (KTRK) -- An Alvin resident is fuming after a USPS deliveryman left a parcel perched precariously on the back of his pickup truck instead of delivering it to his doorstep.

Patrick D. Aldridge posted surveillance video on Facebook showing the postal worker dropping off a box.

The postal worker can be seen getting out of his truck and walking up to Aldridge's pickup - which is parked right up against the garage and front porch - and leaving the package sitting in plain sight on the rear gate of the truck.

"Hey [USPS], this is how people's packages get stolen. Pretty sure your employee can walk 30 more feet to our doorstep," Aldridge wrote.

Aldrige said he called the Alvin post office and discussed the incident with a manager.

USPS released the following statement to ABC13 regarding the incident:

"The Postal Service strives to provide exceptional service to our customers. However, even one mishandled package is unacceptable and this behavior does not reflect the efforts of the thousands of professional, dedicated carriers in our workforce. We apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused. Local management is currently reviewing the incident to gather additional details."

Several other people left comments on Aldridge's post saying that they had seen similar behavior from their mail carriers.
