HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was rescued from a burning home in southwest Houston overnight, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Crews responded to the flames on Buxley Street near Curly Oaks Drive at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

HFD said firefighters could see the blaze from their station before they arrived and rescued the man who had become trapped.

The victim was taken to the hospital with burns and is expected to be OK, HFD said. The fire department added that no one else was inside the home.

Investigators are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
