HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- For the second time this month, a Houston Fire Department vehicle and a METRORail train were involved in a crash in Houston.

According to the METRO Police Department, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon near the intersection of Fannin and San Jacinto Streets.

METRO said that one person on the train was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, and no other injuries were reported at this time.

MPD said preliminary information suggested the METRORail train was struck by the fire department vehicle.

On July 3, a person was sent to the hospital after a similar incident in the Near Northside neighborhood of Houston.

Eyewitness News previously reported that an HFD public information officer said that HFD's Engine 9 was responding to a call with lights and sirens when it was hit by the light rail train.

That same day, METRO Police told Eyewitness News that preliminary information indicated the light rail train was struck by the fire truck, causing a derailment.

METRO said the Houston Police Department was investigating the crash.
