Body found in Greens Bayou near Industrial Road, Houston Fire Department says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Officials say an investigation is underway after a person was found dead in Greens Bayou on Monday morning.

The Houston Fire Department said that at about 11:19 a.m., crews responded to reports of a body in the bayou near 12905 Industrial Road.

HFD said it deployed a rescue boat and found a person dead in the water.

The Houston Police Department also responded and worked to recover the body.

An investigation into the person's death is underway. It's unclear how long the victim had been in the bayou.
