Already looking forward to summer? This week Disney magic comes to Hermann Park with a free pop-up event to celebrate "Cool Kids' Summer".
Descendants of the man who donated the portions of Hermann Park to the City of Houston 111 years ago spoke in front of the county agency trying to condemn the property on Thursday.
The new information comes as another descendant of the land's original donor says his family wishes that the park land remains greenspace for Houstonians should be honored.
"It's a win-win-win," said the Harris Health CEO, describing his controversial plan to condemn nine gifted acres of Hermann Park to expand Ben Taub Hospital. But the donors' descendants disagree.
"They meant for it to stay green space," said a member of the family, whose historic gift to Houston's Hermann Park is now at risk of being condemned for a hospital expansion.
All aboard! Hermann Park is offering free rides from Aug. 31 through Sep. 6. to celebrate the train's upgrade. The development is part of recent eco-friendly improvements to the Houston Zoo area.
