Neighbors outraged by go-go dancing at steakhouse in SW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- More than a dozen concerned neighbors met with police Wednesday night, saying a nearby steakhouse, as it states on the sign, is actually a strip club and the city needs to shut it down.

The sign outside of V Live says it's a steak and seafood house. A sign by the door says it's BYOB and open after hours. On social media, it's labeled as Houston's number one strip club. Videos is seen there of women barely clothed, dancing on poles.

So is it a Steak house or strip club?

The owner told us it's a restaurant permitted as a food establishment, not a sexually oriented business. He says the girls are just go-go-dancers and don't get naked.

Just about a block away is an elementary school.

On Wednesday, dozens of people who live behind the establishment met with Houston police. They say it's already becoming a nuisance and is not properly permitted. They complained to police and the owner Damon Cobbs about noise, trash, parking issues and violence by the business patrons.

Cobbs told the concerned crowd he will work with them, hire extra security and will close at 4am instead of 5am.

City Councilman Mike Laster said the city is working to fix the problem.

A city attorney says they have to prove this is a sexually oriented business. That could take time.

This is the second location to open in Houston. The first was made popular by drop-in guests like Justin Bieber, Drake and Rihanna.
