MIAMI, FL (KTRK) -- Jayden Hyde of south Florida is a superhero to everyone who knows him. And on Saturday, he got to put those superhero powers to work.

Jayden, who has been battling leukemia for a year, got to be a superhero on his birthday, thanks to a bunch of big-hearted people and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Jayden, or 'Striker Boy' as he was known as on his big day, took on Sneaky Pete, a villain who's half man-half gator. Spectators gathered around Striker Boy every step of the way.

Striker Boy's day-long adventure included diffusing a bomb, putting out fires and eventually taking down Sneaky Pete.

The big day ended with a press conference and birthday party at the Broward Police Department.
