HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- What began as a love triangle ended up with one man in the hospital and the other facing charges. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says a suspect is in custody after a male Walmart employee was stabbed at the Crosby Walmart.

A man was apparently stabbed at a Walmart in Crosby

Around 10:45am, deputies responded to the store in the 14200 block of FM 2100.

That's where they found the 24-year-old bleeding from the chest. Walmart shopper Irma Garcia and others were trying to help him stay alive.

"I witnessed two gentlemen, they were standing over here by the tables," said Garcia, who just happen to park nearby. "Both gentlemen walked towards the PT Cruiser (parked on the side.) The gentleman in the gray shirt was arguing with the employee of Walmart. They pushed each other, all of the sudden. The guy in the gray shirt stabbed the employee."

The man in the gray shirt quickly ran off. Meanwhile, Garcia jumped into action.

"We grabbed some rags to stop the bleeding, that's when these guys showed up and the ambulance took him," she said.

Investigators determined the fight was over the affections of a young woman who worked at the McDonald's inside the Walmart. Sheriff K9 units were dispatched, and within a few hours, the suspect was captured by a deputy and his K9.

"It's scary when it hits close to home," says Rebecca Slovacek, who runs a neighborhood watch program in the area. "Because we're such a small close knit area, everyone knows everybody. That's the scary part about it, when something like this happens in broad daylight."

Crosby Independent School District lifted a lock-in of their campuses after the suspect was captured.

Investigators say the worker will survive. In addition, the suspect had to be treated for injuries after he was bitten by a K9.
